World Sight Day (WSD) is an annual day of awareness held on the second Thursday of October, to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment. It is an important advocacy and communications opportunity for the eye health community.
In observation of ‘World Sight Day’, The Hans Foundation along with Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is holding an awareness campaign for prevention of avoidable blindness, on 8th October, 2015.
The Hans Foundation has partnered with Department of Disability Affairs and is also being supported by six more campaign partners. These partners are National Association for the Blind, Sai Retina Foundation, Score Foundation, R P Centre (AIIMS), Saksham and SightLife.
