What We Do: Disability

Occupies a prominent focus area of The Foundation. Based on our assessment of the prominence of this sector that requires due attention. The Foundation has made contact with key organizations in Delhi and in other states, who promote the rights of the disabled. The Foundation encourages and partners organizations who match our ethos and lay emphasis on:

  • Working in a direct assistance approach, e.g.: running a rehabilitation center for mentally/physically handicapped.
  • Organizations that offer physical and occupational therapy.
  • Schools for the mentally and physically disabled.
  • Organizations that help with advocacy to change the existing laws regarding disability. This includes organizations that work on awareness programs in cities and villages thereby creating awareness of people’s rights and treatment of disabled people.
  • Organizations working in the Capital to advocate to the government to ratify and use the UN Convention on the Rights for People with Disabilities (PWD) as a benchmark for Indian laws.
  • Organizations working specifically to integrate education for disabled and non-disabled children.
